Beschreibung: An exceptional place in the annals of chess battles is occupied by the Nottingham tournament in 1936. It belongs to those few tournaments that brought together all the strongest chess players of their time. The first or second places in this competition of luminaries were shared by the leader of Soviet chess players, M.M. Botvinnik, who made the first application for the title of world champion with this victory. The collection of the Nottingham Tournament, written by A.A. Alekhin, is a classic work of chess literature. The profound comments of the great chess player are available to a wide range of readers. The book, published in 1937 in England, first appears in Russian in 1962.
