Old wooden tournament chess pieces set Grandmasters.
! Chess pieces only, chess table used just as background!
White knights made of wood. Heads of the black knights & kings/queens finials made of plastic.
Damages: black pawn has no its weighting.
Height of the king is 11 cm., base diameter of the king is 4.5 cm.
Height of the pawns is 5.5 cm., base diameter of the pawn is 3 cm.
This chessmen set is “intermediate” model between classic Soviet grandmaster chess pieces of the 1950s where all the chess figures and kings/queens finials were made of wood and were very skillfully made and the same grandmaster chess pieces of 1980s when chess pieces were already made in a more simplified primitive form with plastic knights and finials.
This chess pieces set is nearer to the old original grandmaster chess of 1950s as you can see the wooden white knights, carved rooks and bishops, figured pawns that made very good, but black knights and kings/queens finials made of plastic yet.
