To make this hat, you need:

*Yarn to crochet the base of the hat. It can be black, brown, green (like a tree trunk). I used brown Alize Lanagold Fine yarn, wool blend, 390 m/100 g. I used about 130g;

*Green yarn to crochet ruffles. You can use absolutely any yarn for this. The volume of ruffles depends on the thickness of the yarn. But if you are using too thick yarn, the hat may become too heavy. I used Coco Vita Cotton yarn, 100% cotton, 240 m / 50 g. I used 5 skeins;

*Red yarn to crochet the star topper. I used the same yarn as for crocheting the base. I also used a little metalized yarn to decorate the topper, but you can do without it and use only red yarn.

*Сrochet hooks 2.5 and 4 mm;

*Hollow fiber stuffing;

*Satin ribbons, sequins, pompons and any other decor. It is better to use light decor so as not to make the hat heavier;

*Sewing needle;

*Scissors.

Abbreviated terms used:

 MR – magic ring

 ch – chain stitch

 sc – single crochet

dc – double crochet

 inc – increase (2 sc in one stitch)

 dec – decrease sc (2 sc together)

This pattern is at an easy/intermediate level. Previous crochet experience is recommended. You need to know how to single crochet and double crochet in the round and in straight and back rows, increase, decrease. You need to know how to work basic crochet stitches.
