This memorable Soviet souvenir was made for gifts to foreigners during the Olympic Games in Moscow in 1980.
Souvenir plaquette “Gorodets”.
Date of manufacture is July 27, 1979.
Gorodetskaya painting is a Russian folk art craft. It has existed since the middle of the XIX century in the area of Gorodets town. Bright, laconic Gorodetskaya painting decorated spinning wheels, furniture, shutters, doors. In 1936, an artel was founded (since 1960, the Gorodetskaya Painting factory), which produces souvenirs.
Size is 7.5 x 6.5 cm.
Weight is about 60 g.
