The Krokodil (Crocodile) magazine was founded in 1922 and was published three times a month. Over time, it became the largest satirical publication in the USSR. Its circulation reached 6.5 million copies .
The popular Soviet magazine covered events in the USSR and in the international arena in a satirical style. Since the USSR opposed the United States, the main topic of ridicule was militarism, racism and politics in the United States.
