Vintage Decanter Colored Cockerel inside. Carafe for Vodka

Antique Glass Decanter handmade. Decanter with Color Cockerel inside. Maltsov Glass Factory. USSR 1930-50 the years 20th century.

Note!!! When the carafe is filled with liquid, the round flask becomes a lens and increases the size of the rooster inside

Historical fact: Such decanters have been widely distributed in Russia since the beginning of the XIX century. In the head of the figurine inside the carafe there is a special narrow opening where, of course, vodka or another strong drink was also poured; a miniature hole was left in the legs of the figures. The bottom line was that in the morning a pile of vodka appeared in this vessel, leaked from the figure overnight; Such cruet very appreciated precisely for this “sober.”

Guta – from the Latin gutta (drop). Gunt work – the method of forming products with a set of specific hand-held techniques for processing hot glass: blow molding , threads, ribbons, etc. In this case, the entire cycle of operations is performed directly near the glass melting furnace.

Note: In the photo, the glare of light! Condition: Corresponds to age and grade. Vintage condition. Without restorations. Nevertheless there are “traces”of time.
