Children’s Bible, written by the archpriest, is one of the most successful options. The book is a detailed retelling in the modern language of traditional biblical subjects.
The first part of the book tells about the events of the Old Testament, and also contains a retelling of non-canonical Bible books (Maccabees, Tobit).
The second part talks about the New Testament, but even here the author presents a surprise and includes episodes that are not in the biblical original. These are stories from church Tradition. The children’s Bible includes such narratives as the story of the introduction of the Blessed Virgin Mary into the church at the age of three years, the story of the founding of the city of Kiev by the Apostle Andrew the First-Called and the Assumption of the Virgin. The author talks about biblical stories, commenting on them and inserting teachings and tips for the younger generation. The author, throughout the story, draws conclusions from the stories told. The narration is primarily aimed at a children’s audience of 10 years.
