Yarn: Drops Alpaca mix: 50g/167 meters (183 yards) (100% Alpaca)
Materials: 2,5 mm (US 1½) circular needles; 2,0 mm (US 0) circular needles; several markers.
Теnsion: 25 sts and 37 rows to 10 cm/4ʺ measured over st st using 2,5 mm (US 1½) needles.

Before you start knitting, please, pay attention to the fact that elbow patches aren’t some kind of separate item in my project and they shouldn’t be sewn to already finished sleeves of the sweater. Here it’s an imitation of patches which is done by the intarsia method during the knitting process and it’s designated by a stripe pattern. I think that this way of “false” patches is very organic because you don’t need to reattach anything to your sleeve, and the imposed patches won’t pull your sleeves down while you be wearing them on you.
The position of an elbow patch is determined by an average length of a forearm for each size of the sweaterr. You can also get that forearm length from knowing the shoe size of the sweater’s recipient: according to anthropometric data, the foot length equals the forearm. This regularity allowed me to be more accurate in my calculations in regards to the patch’s position on each elbow for mostly common men’s shoe sizes (40-44 EUR).
You can determine conformity for sizes by metric length of a foot, which is provided in centimetres.
Oftentimes human body shapes don’t live up to standards created by average measurements, and those measurements have wide variations.
