Anatation: The works of the “small genre” included in the book reflect all stages of Dostoevsky’s creative biography: early (1840s), marked by the poetics of the “natural school” and telling about the fate of a little man (“Poor people”, “Double”); after hard labor (1860s), when the theory of soil movement was developed, reflected in the novel “Bad Anecdote”; and the period of the 1870s, when works were created that most nakedly represent the tragedy of reality and the desire “with full realism to find a person in a person” (“Meek”).
