Annotation: The match for the title of world chess champion in 1960 took place from March 15 to May 7 in Moscow. Match regulations: 24 games for the majority, with a score of 12:12 the champion retains the title. The main referee is Gideon Stahlberg (Sweden) and his assistant Harry Golombek (England). Participants’ seconds: Grigory Goldberg for Botvinnik, Alexander Koblenz for Tal. Having won with a score of 12½: 8½ (+6 −2 =13), Mikhail Tal became the eighth world champion.
