Annotation: “Chess informator” (“Sahovski informator”) – a collection of chess games and materials for 1979 and 1980.
The purpose of the publication is to provide chess players from various countries with up-to-date information about the most interesting games played in recent international competitions, about the latest achievements in chess theory and practice. Laid the foundations of the information system in chess. Each volume of “Shahovski Informant” contains several hundred selected competition games of the past 12 months (several hundred more games are given in the notes), 36 original endings and combinations, the most important theoretical novelties in openings. The games are published with the notes mainly of those chess players who played them, in a special notation, where the pieces are denoted by chess symbols. This makes the publication accessible to chess players of all countries. The use of chess symbols and ciphers makes it possible to process chess data using a computer, which increases the efficiency of information. There is a heading – “FIDE”, with the latest information about its activities, information about the most important events in the chess life of individual countries and the chess world as a whole.
