Annotation: The monograph is dedicated to one of the most topical openings, which today has firmly entered the repertoire of the strongest chess players in the world. The work makes extensive use of the latest research by leading Soviet and foreign chess players, which enriched the Grunfeld defense with new strategic ideas.

2. “Nimzowitsch Defense”. Author: M.E. Taimanov. Publisher: Physical Culture and Sports. 1960 year. Language: Russian.  287 pages. Format: Standard, illustrations.

Annotation:  The book by international grandmaster M. E. Taimanov is a monograph devoted to the analysis of one of the most important modern chess beginnings – the Nimzowitsch Defense. The practice of chess competitions introduced a number of changes in the main Nimzowitsch defense systems, especially in such systems as the Zemish system, the Rubinstein system, the modern version, the Leningrad system. These sections form the main backbone of the book. At present, the book is a collector’s item, due to the relatively small volume, it can be used for self-acquaintance with the ideas of the opening.
