Annotation: Leading theorist, successful athlete, honored coach Alexey Suetin is well known to all chess fans. Many years of chess practice and research were summarized by the International Grand Master in the “Advanced Textbook”. He uniquely conveys the extensive knowledge of the leading Soviet chess school. Based on an analysis of strategic and tactical fundamentals, he emphasizes first of all their mutual relations and their interaction in chess combat. He also explains in detail how to work with dynamic factors in the early and mid-game. A special part of the book is devoted to means and methods of improving the game of chess. Repeatedly and urgently, the author warns against dogmatic and mechanical play. Encourages a chess player to think for himself! – Suetin sees this as his main task.
