Annotation: Leading theorist, successful athlete, honored coach Alexey Suetin is well known to all chess fans. Many years of chess practice and research were summarized by the International Grand Master in the “Advanced Textbook”. He uniquely conveys the extensive knowledge of the leading Soviet chess school. Based on an analysis of strategic and tactical fundamentals, he emphasizes first of all their mutual relations and their interaction in chess combat. He also explains in detail how to work with dynamic factors in the early and mid-game. A special part of the book is devoted to means and methods of improving the game of chess. Repeatedly and urgently, the author warns against dogmatic and mechanical play. Encourages a chess player to think for himself! – Suetin sees this as his main task.

Viele Jahre Schachpraxis und Forschung wurden vom Internationalen Großmeister im „Advanced Textbook“ zusammengefasst. Er vermittelt auf einzigartige Weise das umfangreiche Wissen der führenden sowjetischen Schachschule. Basierend auf einer Analyse strategischer und taktischer Grundlagen betont er zunächst deren gegenseitige Beziehungen und ihr Zusammenspiel im Schachkampf. Außerdem erklärt er ausführlich, wie man mit dynamischen Faktoren im frühen und mittleren Spielverlauf arbeitet. Ein besonderer Teil des Buches ist den Mitteln und Methoden zur Verbesserung des Schachspiels gewidmet. Immer wieder und eindringlich warnt der Autor vor dogmatischem und mechanischem Spiel. Ermutigt einen Schachspieler, selbst zu denken! – Suetin sieht darin seine Hauptaufgabe.
