Stefan Dragutin was King of Serbia from 1276 to 1282. In his righteous life, Saint Dragutin worked hard to convert heretics to the true faith. He supported the development of the Orthodox Church, built churches, and encouraged the missionary work of Orthodox priests. Before his death, he entered a monastery and became a monk, taking the name of Theoktistos, a Byzantine saint of the fifth century.
