The old fashioned slipper stitch or ribbed stitch known to all crocheters finds rebirth in this simple pattern. The two predominating colors in your room can be worked into this design. Or if you prefer to use the self-shading colors, it will be necessary to change threads as you work and the result will still be colorful.

Materials: Chadwick’s Red Heart Germantown Zephyr, 23 balls (1 oz. balls) each of color 282 Rust and 323 Champagne. If 30 yd. balls are used, buy 3 times the amount specified.
Milward’s steel crochet hook No. 1 or Milward’s Casein crochet hook No. 3 or 4.
If shaded colors selected, buy 160 (25 yd. balls) and see notation at the end of these directions before starting work.

For an afghan of about 40 x 60 inches, 173 blocks (each 4 inches square) are required. Blocks are made individually and then sewed together.

How to Print
