For the bracelets, I used 2.2 mm thick copper round wire (11ga).
Double twisted round copper wire 1.6 mm thick (14ga).
Half-round copper wire about 1.5 mm wide (14-16ga).
Tools.
To make the bracelets, we will need a small set of hand tools.
Blow torch with a combustion temperature of at least 1300 degrees Celsius.
We will also need tools for sanding: files, sandpaper.
Solutions for patination (to make it look older), or you can patinate the old-fashioned way – in ammonia vapor.
Polishing machine with special felt tips.
Polishing should be done using polishing pastes.
First, we should twist together two 1.6 mm thick wires. The thickness is approximate. The main thing is that the wire twisted together should not be too different in thickness from the main wire (2.2 mm).
It is best to twist with a hand drill or a screwdriver. You can prepare three meters in advance or you can twist only 20 cm. The density of twisting depends on your taste. I twist the wire until it breaks (that is tight).
After you make a pair of bracelets with your own hands, you can easily plan the size of your future bracelet in advance.
As you have already figured out, you can easily modify the bracelets using the same half round wire attachment. Experiment – add new elements, change the clasp (add a pretty weaving, a bead…and so on). You can make a huge number of completely different bracelets using this technique of fastening elements.
Use different types of wire – nesilver, melchior, brass, bronze, silver.
