The Iced Crown Hat knitting PDF pattern for adult medium size head. The hat with fold over brim is worked bottom up, you start working in the ribbing 2 x 2 and then in a cable stitch pattern to the crown. It’s a great accessory for late fall or winter. Slouchy shaped.

SIZE:
M – middle teen/adult size, head circumference 22-23’’ (56-58 cm).
The total height of the hat is 13.8’’ (35 cm) after blocking.
Yarn:
You will need 100-125 gr of Aran weight yarn. It’s not necessary to use only natural fibre yarn for this project. You can also use blends (wool blends, alpaca blends, etc.). Final yardage: 245.0 yds (224.0 m).
Needles:
- 16’’ (40 cm) US 7 (4.5 mm) circular needle and a set of double pointed needles for small circumference at crown.
- Check your gauge and adjust needle size(s) accordingly if necessary.
Gauge:
- 18.5 sts x 28 rows = 4 x 4’’ (10×10 cm) worked in Stockinette st with US 7 (4.5 mm) needles after blocking.
- 29 sts x 28 rows = 4 x 4’’ (10×10 cm) worked in Rib 2×2 with US 7 (4.5 mm) needles in the rounds.
Notions: stitch markers, cable needles, row counter (optional), tapestry needle or crochet hook for weaving in the ends.
